Thanks for visiting! I guess my first blog will be to tell you where I am so far in my journey into racing cars.

Well, the first thing you need to go racing is a racing licence, so I contacted my local race track, Knockhill Racing Circuit, for dates of their next ARDS course, booked myself in for 17th October and paid £325 for the one day course. They sent me a pack with a DVD (which I still need to watch) and some other paperwork, including a form to be filled out by my GP during a medical assessment, which I also need to book.

I also recently purchased some race boots (Alpinestars SP), a balaclava (Walero) and socks (OMP). For the short term, I will be borrowing an FIA approved helmet and HANS device, race suit, and gloves from a friend, so all I need to buy now is underwear! Everything purchased so far has been from Turner Autosport in Strathaven, near Glasgow. Steve and Jen there are amazing! They are so helpful and have given me some great advice and put me in touch with lots of people to help me in my journey.

Driving wise, having previously owned a Lotus Elise, a Caterham Superlight R, a Caterham R500 and a Porsche 911 GTS and access to other Supercars and Racecars on a regular basis, I’m no stranger to driving “different” cars. I have done a few trackdays before in these cars and I have another trackday booked for next weekend, which I’m really excited about!

More to follow soon but I’ve attached a photo of my mug so you can put a face to the name.

Thanks for visiting and reading. Hope you see you soon!
